Roxanne Sams, MS, ARNP-BC, MA

Vice President

Roxanne most recently served as Director of Emergency/Trauma/Bayflight Services at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. She also served as the Director of Nursing Education/Event Medicine with ARNP staff privileges for the Bayfront Emergency Department. She is past president of the Florida Emergency Nurses Association and served on the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives Board of Directors. Roxanne received her MSN and MA from University of South Florida. She speaks regularly at educational programs addressing clinical and leadership issues in emergency medicine.

Arthur L. Diskin, MD, FACEP

Dr. Diskin is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), a Past-President of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) and Past Medical Director and Chief of Emergency Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is currently Vice President and Global Chief Medical Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines International and a Voluntary Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Diskin sits on the Medico-Legal Committee, and Cruise Section of the American College of Emergency Medicine (ACEP). Dr. Diskin is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and an Examiner for the oral portion of said Board since 1985. For over 20 years, Dr. Diskin ran a large physician group staffing up to seven emergency departments. In 1998, Dr. Diskin, as Chairman of Emergency Medicine, was privileged to assist in starting the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. Dr. Diskin attended college and medical school at the University of Miami and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County Medical Center/University of Southern California.

Cliff Findeiss, MD, FACEP

Dr. Findeiss graduated from the Northwestern University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and attained his MD and MS in Pharmacology degrees in 1968. He completed a surgery internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by service in the US Navy as a Lieutenant with the Medical Corps, before returning to the University of Miami in Family Medicine. Dr. Findeiss served as a President of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and as a member of ACEP’s exploratory Committee on Board Establishment. He was certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine from 1983 to 1993 and served ABEM as a Board Examiner. He was the editor of two clinical practice books on emergency medicine: “Emergency Medical Care” and “Emergency Management of the Critical Patient,” both published by International Medical Book Corp. Dr. Findeiss served as the first Medical Director of Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue as well as the Hialeah Fire Department. Dr. Findeiss was co-founder of EMSA in 1973 and of InPhyNet Medical Management, Inc. in 1993, which provided physician contract management services for hospital emergency departments across the country. These groups were merged with Med-Partners, Inc. in 1997 and are now a part of TeamHealth, Inc. Dr. Findeiss also was a partner in River Capital Partners, V-Port, Inc., Advertising Display Systems, Inc., and SoHo Lofts.

David C. Seaberg, MD, CPE, FACEP

David Seaberg currently works for Summa Health in Akron, OH. Previously, he was the Chairman for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida, Gainesville campus. Dr. Seaberg attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and did his Emergency Medicine residency training at the University of Pittsburgh. He is  certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. He has over 125 publications, book chapters and abstracts and has received numerous teaching and research awards. In addition to his role at the University of Florida, Dr. Seaberg has served as President of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians and serves on the Board of Directors for the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center. He has been a leader in the State of Florida with regard to medical and hospital aspects of domestic security. He founded the University Alliance for Weapons of Mass Destruction Education and served as Co-Chair of the Health/Medical/Hospital/EMS Committee of the State Work Group for Domestic Security.
