Hurricane Ivan Update - Updated 09/10/04 - 1:45pm EST

Dear Sand Key EMS Summit Participant:

As you know, Florida has been hit very hard by two hurricanes in the last two weeks and Hurricane Ivan is set to hit the State along the west coast including the Clearwater Beach area coinciding with the start of the 2004 Sand Key EMS Summit. The Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center, the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation and SUNSTAR EMS have decided it is in the best interest of our attendees, exhibitors and faculty to cancel the 2004 Sand Key EMS Summit.

We have struggled with this decision, but it is our feeling that with much of the Southeastern United States having been affected by the adverse weather and flooding caused by the first two hurricanes and Hurricane Ivan set to increase these effects cancellation of the conference is the best decision we can make. We will begin processing full registration refunds to all registrants immediately. If you need additional documentation beyond this notice of cancellation to help with travel cancellations or your agency please contact us at (407) 281-7396 and we will work with you to provide the additional documentation.

It is our hope that you will join us for the rebirth of the Sand Key EMS Summit tentatively set for September 8-10, 2005 on Clearwater Beach, Florida.
