Program
Overview
Given the growing senior population and their unique
pre-hospital emergency care needs, there is a definite need to
provide first responders and Emergency Nurses with educational
opportunities specific to senior adults. With support from the
Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF), the Emergency Medicine
Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC) have collaborated with local
EMS agencies and developed an educational program addressing six
distinctive and vital areas of senior care. The topics include:
• Demographics of our Aging Society and the Physiology of the
Aging Patient
• The Most Common Senior Emergencies
• Common Drug Problems of the Elderly
• Psychological Emergency Problem
• The Maze of Senior Health Care Delivery
• End of Life Issues
Program Process
Continuing Education Credit
To receive CE credit, participants must Register for
the Program and complete the Program Pre-Test, Post-Test and
Evaluation.

Conference Certificates
Your completed online evaluation is required to receive your CE
certificate. Once you have completed the online evaluation, a
certificate will be issued to you from the EMLRC office within
30 business days.
EMLRC Mission
The Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource
Center (EMLRC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to
promoting public health through the advancement of Emergency
Medicine, Disaster Management and pre-Hospital emergency care
through the provision of educational and research programs. The
EMLRC provides lifesaving education for lifesavers.
WPHF Mission
The Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) is
a private, not-for-profit organization supporting programs that
improve the health of youth, older adults and the
community-at-large in Winter Park, Maitland and Eatonville. It
also conducts research and provides education on health issues
affecting these groups.
