The Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center Announces Joint Initiative to Improve Quality of Medical Training

ORLANDO, FL -- October 30, 2007 -- The Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC) is pleased to announce a joint initiative with Laerdal Medical Corporation to provide Continuing Education credit for those participating in Laerdal’s Course 100 – Simulator Assembly and Programming. The course is designed to increase a user’s ability to effectively operate patient simulators such as Laerdal® SimMan® and Laerdal® SimBaby™.

Twelve hours of continuing education credit will be given to Nurses and Paramedics attending the course; physician credit is pending. Courses can be taken at the Wappingers Falls, New York or Gatesville, Texas facilities.

Laerdal Educational Services Manager, David LaCombe says, “Laerdal’s partnership with the EMLRC is a testament to our continued desire to meet high customer expectations. The course was reviewed by a prestigious educational provider and proved to be rich in content and performance based. This is a strong endorsement of our training program.”

The EMLRC is a non-profit organization based in Orlando, Florida. Laerdal and the EMLRC have worked together to coordinate the Bill Shearer International Advanced and Basic Life Support Competition held during ClinCon – the annual Clinical Conference for Pre-Hospital Emergency Care held every July.
