Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center Board of Directors member receives James O. Page Award

Orlando, FL -- May 18, 2004 -- Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center Board of Directors member Garry L. Briese has been awarded the James O. Page Award. This prestigious award is the EMS Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs highest EMS honor and was bestowed on him at the Fire-Rescue Med Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 26-28, 2004.

The James O. Page Award which is sponsored by Medtronic is presented annually to an individual who has played a key role in creating or promoting non-clinical innovation and achievements in EMS fire service management. Briese who started his career as a volunteer firefighter has been the IAFC’s Executive Director for 19 years, and was the Executive Director of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians for 15 years.

The Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing emergency medicine, disaster management, prehospital emergency care and public health through the provision of educational and research programs.
