Brazil and Florida to Forge Partnership on Emergency
Health Education, Training and Research
Orlando, FL -- November 7, 2003
-- Health leaders from the Federative Republic of Brazil will
be meeting with leadership of the Emergency Medicine Learning &
Resource Center (EMLRC) in Orlando, November 9, 2003 to address
partnering in emergency medicine education, training and research.
Dr. Sergio Timmerman, member of the health department of the
Federative Republic of Brazil, will accompany over 25
Brazilian health leaders to meet with emergency medicine leaders in
Florida for the First Intercontinental Strategic Partnership
Forum.
“Our goal is to open the door to
our colleagues in South America to establish a formal relationship
for trade in distribution of education, training and research for
their expanding health care system” states EMLRC program
organizer Nabil El Sanadi, MD, FACEP. “We also plan to use
the soon to be built Orlando based EMLRC as a destination for
South American health care providers to share knowledge in emergency
medicine,” states El Sanadi.
EMLRC
representatives will address both clinical initiatives,
collaborative research as well as bioterrorism preparedness and
response activities. Some of the current EMLRC programs
include disaster planning, prehospital emergency care, cardiac
critical care, emergency medicine benchmarking, and rural emergency
care.
The First Intercontinental
Strategic Partnership Forum meeting will take place on
Sunday, November 9th, 2003 from 8:00am -
3:00pm at
The Renaissance Orlando Hotel at Seaworld,
6677 Sea Harbor Drive, Orlando, Florida 32821.
