Overview ClinCon
2009 is designed to create an educational experience that will
help EMS Personnel provide the highest quality prehospital care to
their patients. The
time has come for practical, research based clinical
street medicine to be practiced by every prehospital
care provider.
Who Should Attend Paramedics, EMT's Firefighters, EMS/Fire Administrators, EMS
Medical Directors, EMS Educators, Emergency Physicians, Emergency
Physician Assistants, Emergency Nurses, First Responders and other
Allied Health Professionals interested in learning practical,
research based clinical street medicine.

9. Discuss the philosophy and physiology of geriatric trauma in the
prehospital setting.
10. Discuss the use of ultrasound in the trauma patient in the
prehospital setting.
11. Discuss the use of Moodle as a course management system for EMS
education.
12. Discuss the use of video clips as an education tool.
13. Discuss the development and sustainment of a EMS field education
program.
14. Discuss the management and treatment of pain in the prehospital
setting.
15. Discuss the concepts of medical research and how they can be used
to improve
prehospital care.
16. Discuss the importance of 12 Lead EKG in the prehospital
setting.
17. Discuss how the use of prehospital 12 lead EKG acquisition can
improve the street
to cath time of cardiac patients.
18. Discuss the concept of non-invasive respiratory gas monitoring
in the
prehospital setting.
19. Discuss how the use of impedance threshold devices effects
cardiac arrest survival.
20. Discuss the use of intraossesous infusion in the prehospital
setting.
21. Discuss the management and treatment of the lightning strike
patient in the
prehospital setting.
22. Discuss the concept of the two-edged role of oxygen and free
radicals.
23. Discuss the controversies and clinical evidence of spinal
movement restriction.
24. Discuss the concept of permissive hypotension and its effect(s)
on trauma
resuscitation.
25. Discuss the process for stabilization of the pediatric trauma
patient in the
prehospital setting.
Cancellation Policy It is the policy of the Florida Emergency Medicine
Foundation to give a refund only if the request is made in writing
to the conference registrar 2 (two) weeks prior to the conference.
For all cancellations an administrative fee of $75.00 will be
retained.
